Prom, graduation, coming out, first loves (and first-times). Let's grow up.

This workshop will look at examples of the coming-of-age genre in theatre, film, and television and familiarize you with the common tropes and themes to build your fluency in depictions of the yearning, hopeful moments on the precipice of adulthood. Participants will learn a broad selection of choreographic options for telling these stories and review some common concerns and considerations of the genre.

If you have a coming-of-age project coming your way (or you want to be ready for one when it finds you), this workshop is for you.

Note: This workshop will include discussion and advice for staging non-consensual contact and stories involving minors.

Participants are expected to have a working knowledge of consent and boundaries tools before attending the workshop.
